The objective of the project „Bäume für Bildung“ is

 

• to improve the access to education,

• to improve the school environment and

• to lower expenses for school food for low income families.

 

 

 

Available school resources like open fields, livestock, water resources (river etc.) will be used in a school garden/farm in order to generate income. The income will be used to reinvest in the project, but will also be used for purchasing essential school materials like chairs, tables, school books, exams and food offered in school.

Depending on the available resources and the location, seedlings, fruits, vegetables and more can be planted.

It is essential to involve the community, they can be crucial for supporting the project in general but also in providing work forces and in being customers and advertising for the products.

 

The project is long-term, meaning the beginning phase consists mostly of agreeing on a detailed project plan adjusted to the specific requirements, preparing the garden/farm, planting the first seeds/plants and taking care of it. Depending on the planted seeds, the project should be profitable after a few months. Documentation is also very important, it will show whether the project is indeed profitable and where might be room for improving.
